Excerpt from Bulletin des Sciences Mathématiques, Vol. 46: Année 1911; Première Partie

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book is a revised and expanded second edition of the author's original work on orthogonal coordinate systems and curvilinear coordinates. It explores the fundamentals of these systems and their applications in various fields. The author covers topics such as the theory of curvilinear coordinates, the representation of surfaces, and the determination of orthogonal systems. The book also delves into the geometry of surfaces, including the theory of lines of curvature and asymptotic lines. Additionally, it examines triple orthogonal systems and their significance in differential geometry and mathematical physics. Through a comprehensive analysis of these systems, the author provides valuable insights into the geometry of curves and surfaces, making this book an essential resource for mathematicians, physicists, and engineers working in these areas. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
