Angels sitting in the light themselves diffuse, 'un 'mixed with the earthly hue of other objects,' was, a feature among others, to receive commendation.

A private critic of the Picture speaks with emphasis (justly), of serene composure of fea tures,' senatorial dignity,' a brow of thought,' dark and intellectual eyes.'
