Congregationalism claims apostolic origins as it follows the principles laid down by Christ in the New Testament, and is thus considered to be grounded on the Word of God. The author shows how Congregationalists differ from other denominations on the issues of ecclesiastical power and church government, and how they perceive themselves to be true to the original form of Christian organization. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in the history and principles of Congregationalism and its place in the broader landscape of Christianity.
