Nobis primo in animo fuit fastos sedilium quotquot iunotueriut et rei publicae liberae et imperii colligere anno rumque ordine conserere, quamquam nobis hand facile contin gere posse non ignorahamus, ut tabulas restitueremus conti nues integrasque tamquam simulacrum praebentes illorum fastorum, qui repositi erant in tabulario aediiium. At tamen id quoque operas pretium esse censuimus singulis aedilibus quam fieri posset accuratissime tempori certo adscriptis exa minare, quatenus pro certo habere liceat et quomodo corri geuda vel supplenda sint ea, quae disputaverunt de aedili tate eiusque loco in cursu honorum viri docti.
