He served on the Building Committee of the Y. M. C. A. And the First M. E. Church of this city, and is, today, a director and trustee in these institutions. He was Secretary of the Fairmont Board of Trade, and is an active member of the Fairmont Chamber of Commerce, a Director and vice-president of Cook's Hospital Company, and a Director of the First National Bank of Fairmont.
Mr. Jacobs has always been a warm friend of the Fairmont State Normal School. His son and two daughters are graduates of the school, and over two hundred young lady students of this institution have been members of his Sunday School class during the past few years.
