Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the fascinating evolution of Italian poetry from the 13th to the 16th centuries, focusing on the development of the "frottola" genre. The author traces the origins of "frottlolae" to medieval "motti confetti," witty and satirical verses in which proverbs and colloquialisms were woven together, and explores their transformation into more complex and sophisticated poetic forms. The book highlights the interplay between popular and erudite traditions in the development of both the "frottola" and its variations, such as the "barzelletta," and examines their use as a vehicle for social commentary, political satire, and amorous expression. By situating these poetic forms within their broader historical and literary context, the author provides a comprehensive and engaging account of their significance in Italian literature. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 9780243534814_0
