Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a thorough examination of the doctrine of the resurrection of the human body. The author demonstrates the resurrection of the body to be an established element of the Christian faith. This doctrine is supported by evidence from Scripture, reason, and tradition. Passages from Scripture show that the bodies of the saints shall be raised to glory. Reason teaches that if the body is essential to the constitution of man, as the Scriptures assert, then the resurrection of the body is necessary to the completion of the redemption of man. Tradition teaches that the belief in the resurrection of the body has been held by the Church in all ages. The author also answers objections to the doctrine of the resurrection of the body. Some of these objections are founded on the supposed impossibility of the resurrection; others on the supposed incredibility of it. The author shows that the supposed impossibility of the resurrection is no real objection to it, for with God all things are possible. He also shows that the supposed incredibility of the resurrection is no real objection to it, for there is much in nature that is incredible, and yet true. The resurrection of the body is a doctrine full of comfort to the Christian. It teaches him that his body, which is now subject to corruption, shall be raised to glory. It teaches him that he shall have a part in the first resurrection, and shall not be hurt of the second death. This doctrine is also full of warning to the wicked. It teaches them that their bodies, which are now the instruments of sin, shall be raised to shame and everlasting contempt.
