Depuis que la mort nous l'a ravie, un de mes plus consolans souvenirs est de lui avoir rendu ce public hommage de mon respect et de ma tendresse et surtout de l'en avoir vue jouir avec des larmes de joie qui se confondaient avec les miennes. Puisse mon Othello puisse le Recueil de ânes faibles ouvrages s'ils doivent me sur vivre et sauver notre nom de l'oubli en rache tant leurs imperfections par quelques qualités qui les distinguent apprendre à mes lecteurs.
