John Payne, who ll be come the proud father, was so happy he began sending his wifehourly telegrams suggesting every name that came into his head f0r the christening of the heir. The first few days the names were all boys' names because, of course, he wanted a son. Slowly, he realized it might be, a girl. Ever since, John's names _oi the feminine gender, all extremely exotic, have amused Anne.
