Pendant ces années je vis défiler chez les Circourt, soit dans leur salon a Paris, soit dans leur maison de campagne aux Bruyères près Bougival, une grande partie de ce qu'on pouvait appeler l'élite de la société contemporaine. Tenant a faire honneur à la recommandation dont j'avais été l'objet, M° de Circourt reporte sur moi une partie de l'amitié qu'elle avait de longue date.
