Gravem tanto exemplo modestiae tuae orationem meam animadverto, si debitas in laudes excurrat, et res optime gestas ab inita dignitate recenseam, consiliorum gra vitatem, et sinceram fidem, quibus animum Clementissimi Regis Tibi devinxisti: om nium vice sit Sapientissimi caesaris providentia, quae Te in partem maximam Reipublicae administrandae cooptavit, consiliorumque praestantiam a felicitate nostra cognovit. Aliis ego, immo et publicis acclamationibus haec laudanda relinquo, ne in tuam incidam ofi'ensionem, et ad ea, quae minus legenti Tibi displiceant, convertor; ad literas ne'mpe, quarum eximium Te cultorem praebes perpetuo in literatos homines favore, ac patrocinio, eorumque frequentia nil de publicorum negotiorum cura detrahis, quod solatio Tibi sint, quae aliis oneri, studiorum vigiliae.
