Tant et si bien que nous en savons trop décidé ment et que nous voudrions en savoir moins pour l'honneur et la dignité de cette femme Il faut donc choisir dans ce fouillis epais, en extraire les choses essen tielles, mettre dans ce choix la réserve et le respect qu'elle n'a point connus, et, à ce prix, la faire paraître devant les hommes telle qu'elle eût voulu peut - être paraître devant Dieu.
