Universale incivilimento dei tempi presenti; imperciocchè gli ammaestramenti civili e politici dei nostri sommi intelletti le formule teoriche non che le pratiche verità vennero in questi due ultimi secoli commentate ed accolte persino (lai mag giori uomini di Stato europei; ed anzi può dirsi che tutto il mondo civile riconobbe e confermò i principii profes sati dai grandi pensatori italiani dal secolo XIII al XVI, negli scritti dei quali trovasi trasfusa tutta la sapienza civile, che comprendesi in quelle formule Splendide ed efficaci della indipendenza libertà ed unità d'italia.
