SO far as I am aware, no School Edition of Madame la Rochejaquelein's Mémoires has hitherto appeared in England and it is hoped that these extracts may be found useful not only in the class-rooms of Public Schools, but also in those of Preparatory and Girls' Schools as well.
Care has been taken to keep the narrative as unbroken as is possible where extracts are given.
