Excerpt from Consecutive Questions on the Gospel of Matthew
There are two modes of studying the Gospel history. One is that of taking up the several Gospels consecutively, that is, in the order of their arrangement in our New Testaments. The other is chronologically, or, in the order of time. This second method requires the classification of events on the plan of a Harmony. Both methods are good, and each one has its particular advantages.
