When, in condescension to the weakness of man, the Most High confirmed his promises by an oath, we find an expression of similar import attributed to him. But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord. As truly as I live, saith the Lord, a! We have spoken in mine ears, so will I do unto you. As I live, saith the Lord, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all as with an ornament, and bind them on thee as a bride doeth. 1 And a similar expression is found in numerous other places.
