Quant aux auteurs islamiques postérieurs au douzième s1ecle, qui en général n'ont qu'un intérêt secondaire, je me suis contenté d'en citer quelques-uns des plus importants ou de donner un résumé de leurs récits, s'ils sont tr0p prolixes, comme c'est le cas de Mir X(md par exemple. Il va sans dire que je n'ai pu non plus citer textuellement le volumineux Éähnämäh de Firdausi; mais cette oeuvre est accessible à tout le monde, ayant été traduite dans toutes les langues principales. Je dois faire remarquer que, générale ment, je cite les ouvrages orientaux dont il existe une bonne traduction française, dans les termes de celle-ci, sauf quelques cas où j'ai voulu trouver une version plus exacte de telle ou telle expression de l'original.
