When a young Catholic couple's marriage is annulled by the Catholic Church on grounds of clandestinity, the author examines the ensuing legal battle and its implications for the couple and their children. The author traces the evolution of marriage as both a natural institution and a religious sacrament, highlighting the tensions between personal choice and ecclesiastical authority. By meticulously analyzing this case, the book exposes the complexities and shortcomings of marriage laws, raising questions about how to balance religious tradition with individual rights and the protection of families. The author argues that the current legal framework is inadequate and proposes reforms to ensure the validity and stability of marriages, regardless of religious affiliation.
