Excerpt from Draft, Environmental Assessment: Development Concept Plan; Giant Forest, Lodgepole Complex, Sequoia, Kings Canyon National Park
To facilitate appreciation and understanding of the natural environment of the park, the National Park Service has for a period of years allowed the installation of visitor accommodations and concessionaire facilities within the boundaries of the sequoia redwood groves in Giant Forest, and in the environs of the spectacularly glaciated Lodge pole Valley. The existing land use in these areas and the overall land use pattern of the Master Plan study area are presented in Figs. 1-5.
