Excerpt from Shaking Palsy: A Clinical and Pathological Study, With the Reports of Two Autopsies
There were twenty-two fatal cases reported in England in one year (sanders).
Eulenberg (berlin), among ten thousand four hundred and twenty four nervous cases, found forty-six cases of paralysis agitans: 044 per cent.
O. Berger (breslau) states that among five thousand nervous cases 06 per cent. Were paralysis agitans. This is somewhat less than the percentage in my own experience, which is about one per cent.

The author presents a detailed study of post-mortem examinations of affected individuals, analyzing the disease's manifestations in the nervous and muscular systems. Through microscopic examination, the author identifies specific anatomical changes and discusses their potential causes, leading to a theory of the disease as a progressive inflammation triggered by a circulating toxin. The book also explores the relationship between symptoms, such as tremor and impaired voluntary movement, and the underlying pathology. The author concludes by emphasizing the need for further research and therapeutic intervention to combat this debilitating condition.
