Cancer Root. This grows under beach trees and never lives over winter, neither does it bear any leaf, is very drying and astringent, is excellent for old foul ulcers, and taken inwardly by such as have cancers or ulcers and breaking outin the skin, it will cleanse and heal them.
Crain's-bill Root. This grows in English mowing fields, and is likewise drying and astringent, will dry away old ulcers, waste cancers by the decoction, &c.
