Excerpt from Kansas State Manual Training Normal School, Vol. 9: A College for Teachers, Especially of Technical Vocational Subjects; Pittsburg, Kansas; Issued Quarterly; December 1913
It is planned to add other courses from time to time as the needs and conditions arise.
The demand for trained teachers of manual training is much greater than the supply, and the demand for those who can teach the subject is increasing from year to year. During the past school year the calls that have come to us for teachers for this work have far exceeded the supply. Many calls come to us for those who can teach manual training a part of the time and academic subjects the remainder of the time. Teachers of this class are paid better salaries than those who can teach the academic branches only.
It is the policy of the school to at all times extend aid in securing positions for those who are properly qualified for this line of work.
