This learned and interesting production of the distinguished lecturer deserves a prominent place in every Catholic library. Differing from other writers on the same topics, who have described or explained the ceremonial of the Holy Week in the order of its functions, the author has taken a more general view of the subject, and exhib ited the relation which these ceremonies bear to the fine arts, to history, and to religion. From his instructive pen we learn how architecture, music, poetry.
