Seventy-two years have scarcely passed since the birth of American Oddfellowship, and now over six hundred thousand men are among its votaries It cannot be said that its rapid growth was the result of accident, or in consequence of its novelty; for it was solely because of its adaptation to the wants of mankind. Oddfellowship teaches in the most beauti ful and forcible manner the all-important lesson of Fraternity - that all men are of one family, and are therefore brethren.
