Excerpt from Extension Pest Management Pilot Projects: An Evaluation
In addition to the pest management goals attained, many projects have provided more refined and accurate ways for people to make intelligent decisions about the need for pest control. Better monitoring methods have been developed because of large-scale implementation of the methods developed earlier by research. The use of computers and development of workable models have allowed more efficient use of personnel and increased precision in making pest management decisions. This would not have been possible without the pilot projects.
