An import contingent of about short tons of corn and corn products has been fixed for the first two quarters of 1955, according to recent official decrees of the French government. This amount compares with around tons inmorted during the same period of last year. The contingent for the second quarter, april-june is only a little over tons a einst some actually imported for the same time in 1952. Nearly all of the con tingent is for corn crushed or ground with the remaining small amounts mostly of corn flour and corn cakes.
