Any organisation that does business with or within the European Union, and any player in the international financial markets will need to master Monetary Union as a matter of urgency. While many will rely on IT suppliers and consultants to solve short-term operational problems, the real business impact will be strategic. EMU in Perspective introduces readers to the economic and political dynamics; the practical mechanics and the strategic impact of European Monetary Union. It will enable them to master its operation, judge its future development and assess its implications for their own business. Written from a market perspective, this book delivers a concise and objective insight into the nature of European Monetary Union; plus a rigorous analysis of the political and economic forces shaping the single currency. It also offers pointers to the future development of the project and its chances of success. This knowledge can then be used to assess its likely impact on your business.
