Tum @intus, Dicitur quidem if'cuc, inquit, a Cotta, et vero fapius: credo, ne communia jura migrare videa tur: {ed f'rudio contra Stoicos differendi, deos mihi videtur funditus tollere. Bjus orationi non fane defidero quid refponde am fatis enim defenfa religio ef'r in fecundo libro a Lucilio: cujus difputatio tibi ipfi, ut in extremo tertio fcribis, ad veri tatem eft Vifa propenfior. Sed, quod prastermiffum eft in illis libris, credo quia commodius arbitratus es feparatim id quaeri, deque eo differi, id ef'r, de divinatione, qua ef't carum rerum, quae fortuitae putantur, prxdié'tio atque praefenfio, id, fi placet, videamus, quam habeat vim, et quale fit. Ego enim fic exifti mo: fi fint ea genera divinandi vera, de quibus accepimus, quas que colimus, effe deos vicifflmque, fi dii fint, effe qui divinent.
