Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book provides a comprehensive exploration of divination and the different modes of predicting future events. While the author is skeptical of the existence of any 'true' divination, the author presents evidence for the existence of socially accepted forms of divination both in the present day and throughout history. The author argues that the practice of divination is an expression of a common human desire to know the future, despite its inherent fallibility. The author also explores the ideas of fate and the nature of deity within the context of divination, and how these concepts have shifted throughout the ages. Ultimately, this book's insights add significant depth to our knowledge of various divinatory practices, the history of their study, and their enduring relevance in the human experience.
