Excerpt from Clinical Lectures on Paralysis, Disease of the Brain, and Other Affections of the Nervous System
These Lectures were delivered in the Theatre of King's College Hospital, on various occasions, during the last ten years. Influenced mainly by the expressed desire of a large number of those to whom they were addressed, I am now induced to collect them.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into an informative study of the nervous system, particularly focusing on the presence and effects of paralysis. As a symptom, rather than a disease, paralysis is thoroughly examined in the text, offering an understanding of its causes and occurrences throughout the body, specifically within the extremities, nerves, and spinal cord. The author takes a comprehensive approach by studying varied case histories to illustrate different forms of paralysis, such as hysterical hemiplegia and paralysis resulting from lead poisoning, in order to provide a diverse foundation of knowledge. Insightful observations and commentary delivered by the author on the distinctive characteristics of each case's paralysis help readers to develop a nuanced comprehension of the condition. The book concludes with an analysis of the significance of the presented insights and their impact on the understanding and treatment of paralysis.
