Semblable bonne fortune s'est parfois rencontrée ailleurs'. Ce sont les peintures murales de Rampoux, une petite paroisse de l'arrondissement de Gourdon, dont je veux ce soir vous entretenir. Elles m'avaient été signalées_par notre excellent président M. Le chanoine Pottier, et comme elles se trouvaient un peu dans mes domaines, je passe à Cahors une partie de mes vacances, il m'avait demandé d'aller les voir. A ce titre, je vous en devais bien un compte rendu qui sera, je me hâte de le dire, absolument sans préten tion, tout en étant très fidèle; s'il est aussi un peu tardif, deux ans après une visite, je m'en excuse en disant qu'il est devenu d'actualité. Par arrêté ministériel du 25 juin der nier, la chapelle qui contient les fresques a été, en effet, clas sée comme monument historique.
