Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book delves deeply into the rich history and significance of the Augustinian scapular, a garment steeped in religious devotion and closely associated with the Order of Saint Augustine. It traces the scapular's origins back to the Virgin Mary, who is believed to have given it to Saint Monica, the mother of Saint Augustine, as a symbol of consolation and protection. The author meticulously explores the various privileges, indulgences, and spiritual graces that the Church has bestowed upon those who wear the scapular, drawing upon authoritative sources to provide a comprehensive understanding of its spiritual significance. Through an examination of the scapular's role in the Third Order of Saint Augustine and the Archconfraternity of the Cincture of Our Lady of Consolation, Saint Augustine of Saint Monica, the book sheds light on its enduring popularity among the faithful. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
