Excerpt from Graphic Algebra: An Elementary Text Book for College Students, Graphs
In chapter VIII, the general formulae for the nth roots of +1, are arrived at by easy steps from previous geometrical considerations, without the introduction of Demoivre's Formula, or of the exponential form of the complex quantity.
The next two chapters discuss complex quantities, and the Argand Diagram in which are given some of the simple principles of the calculus of complex quanti ties and some simple complex functions.
The geometrical rules for complex multiplication and division constitute a novel feature which will do much toward simplifying the graphical representation of complex functions. The student cannot become too thoroughly familiar with these rules.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book explores graphic algebra, a method of representing equations as lines and curves, which was introduced by Renà Descartes in the 1600s. By visually depicting equations, the author presents a concrete way to grasp abstract mathematical concepts that can be useful for students and teachers alike. The book's topics include finding the roots of equations, plotting curves, and visualizing complex numbers, which are covered in a clear and accessible manner. With detailed explanations and numerous examples, the author provides a practical guide to the principles of graphic algebra, aiding readers in developing a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.
