Sie wollen die Untersuchungen, welche Müllenhoff in seiner Schrift 'zur Geschichte der Nibelunge Not' über den ersten Theil vor gelegt hat, auch für den letzten in Angriff nehmen. Es handelt sich dabei nicht nur um die schwierigen Fragen der Composition, sondern ebenso sehr um eine umfassende Charak teristik der einzelnen Lieder und Abschnitte.
