P. S. (mai Au moment où j'avais terminé la premiere partie de cet ouvrage (été j'appris par le Dr arruga qu'il envisageait sa tâche comme compre nant la pathogénie du décollement aussi bien que l'étiologie proprement dite de cette affection. Il eût été fâcheux que nos deux publications parussent à peu près simultané ment sans qu'il leur fût possible de tenir compte l'une de l'autre. Le Dr Arruga ne pouvant renvoyer la date où devait paraître son rapport, je pris la décision de différer ma propre publication jusques après le Congrès de Madrid, de façon à pouvoir prendre en considé ration les trois rapports de MM. Arruga, ovio et vogt, et la discussion qui leur ferait suite. Pour conserver à mon texte son originalité, je n'y ai rien changé et me suis borné à y intercaler les remarques que m'avaient suggérées les communications présentées à Madrid. Ces adjonctions sont précédées dans mon texte par les lettres P. 5.
