Die Beschreibungen der Arten und Formen wurden, soweit irgend möglich, nach dem in unseren Herbarien und im Kgl. Botani schen Museum zu Berlin vorliegenden Material angefertigt und alsdann mit den in der Litteratur vorhandenen Beschreibungen verglichen. Die Sammlungen des Museums wurden uns von Herrn Geh. Reg.-rath Prof. Dr. A. Engler in bereitwilligster Weise zur Verfügung gestellt.
Bei der systematischen Anordnung der hoheren Gruppen sind die Natürlichen Pflanzenfamilien von Engler und Prantl im allgemeinen massgebend gewesen.
