Excerpt from Engineering Education: Being the Proceedings of Section E of the World's Engineering Congress, Held in Chicago, Ill., July 31, to August 5, 1893
Mr. Charles C. Bonney, president of the World's Congress Auxiliary of the World's Columbian Expo sitiou, called the congress to order and delivered an address of welcome.
Mr. Bonney stated that, owing to the unavoidable absence of Mr. E. L. Corthell, chairman of the general committee of the World's Congress Auxiliary on Engineering Congresses, Mr. O. Chanute, first vice chairman of the committee, would act as presiding Officer in his stead.
