As regards the accentuation of the language, close study and thor ough analogical investigation have been brought to bear upon it, and in arriving at his conclusions, the author, as will be perceived, has paid due attention to the claims of the Lower German, F risaie, Dutch, Icelandic, and English, without neglecting those of other divisions of the Teutonic family. The reasons for such conclusions will generally appear from the Glossary, in which all doubtful cases will be found noted.
