The following pages are reprinted from the north western journal OF education now north-west ern monthly) for 1896-97. During this year the source study method was introduced into Nebraska and these papers were prepared in the midst of uni versity work to enable the teachers of the state to see what the method means and how it may be applied. They answered their purpose and evidently aided in placing the new work on a permanent basis.
