Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the comprehensive Mandarin Chinese-Romanized dictionary published by the author in the early 20th century. The dictionary, consisting of a Mandarin phrase book, uses the Romanization system of Wade, which was the most widely accepted system of its time. The system replaced the problematic practice of using Chinese characters to represent the sounds used in various dialects. Instead, it uses Latin letters to represent Mandarin sounds and words. The author presents a valuable work with detailed pronunciations, roots, and literary and colloquial usage, ultimately providing a unique insight into Mandarin and Chinese dialects from over a century ago. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 9780282621322_0
