This investigation has been carried on in connection with the reg ular botanical work during portions of 1894, 1895, 1896 and 1897. That portion of the work relating to the life history and development of the nematode has been done by Mr. Smith while the investiga tions of the remedies to be used have been carried on by Mr. Stone. We have worked in c'o-operation with each other, however, and hold ourselves individually responsible for the entire work.

Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book investigates the unique effects that roundworm parasites have on cultivated plants. The volume presents a study of these organisms, known as Heterodera radicola, which cause gall-like growths on the roots of plants. Using various methods, the author explores the reproductive habits of these botanical parasites and their impact on their hosts. The text also provides a historical overview of the study of these worms and traces the development of our present knowledge of them. The volume explores the ways in which these nematode worms have significant and often detrimental effects on the health of plants, leading to the sickly growth of affected plants and, in severe cases, their complete death.
