Questo libro non è che il primo volume d'una serie di scritti pei quali, insieme con alcuni valen tuomini del mio paese, mi propongo d'illustrare il meglio che mi sarà possibile questa cara terra di Sicilia, che ha, con tanto' sorriso di cielo e fascino di panorami, una storia senza fine gloriosa. Saranno memorie originali, scritture inedite o rare, cronache e docu menti di ogni maniera una messe ricca, cui se non mi verranno meno le forze e gl'inco roggia menti dedicherò tutte le energie del mio tem peramento di studioso.
