These reports present experimental data collected by the author, an engineer charged with testing both engines. Experiments were conducted to calculate the duty and capacity of each engine and covered both fuel combustion and reservoir water volume. This book presents the author's testing methods, results, and calculations. The author concludes that: the Ridgewood engine did not meet its duty requirement on the first trial but passed on the second; and the Prospect Hill engine exceeded all requirements and would pass with even greater results if the trial were limited to a period of 16 hours as originally planned.
