A prominent writer, editor, and translator, Harold Augenbraum is the Executive Director of the National Book Foundation. He has published six books on Latino literature. IVAN JAKSIC is Director of the Stanford University Program in Santiago and Professor of History at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile. He has taught at Berkeley, Stanford, Wisconsin, and Notre Dame. He has also held research appointments at the Rockefeller Center at Harvard and St. Antony's College at Oxford. His books include The Hispanic World and American Intellectual Life, 1820-1880.
