*The immediate response to the attacks at the national, state, and local levels, with personal interviews of Presidents Clinton and Bush on their roles

In addition, THE 9/11 REPORT will make recommendations as to how to prevent such attacks in the future. Certain to create controversy, this report will be much discussed, politicized, debated and possibly denied. But no matter what it says, THE 9/11 REPORT will be a book that goes down in history.

The commission is headed by:

Thomas H. Kean, Chair. Thomas Kean is a former governor of New Jersey (1982-1990) and, since 1990, the president of Drew University.

Lee H. Hamilton, Vice Chair. Lee Hamilton is president and director of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Prior to becoming director of the Wilson Center, he served for 34 years in Congress representing Indiana's Ninth District.

The other members are:
Richard Ben-Veniste, Fred F. Fielding, Jamie S. Gorelick, Slade Gorton, Bob Kerrey, John F. Lehman, Timothy J. Roemer, James R. Thompson
