JOHN F. HARVEY is an international library consultant who has served as Dean of the School of Library and Information Science at Drexel University, Dean of Library Services at the University of New Mexico and Hofstra University and Visiting Professor of Library Science at Mottahedin University, Teheran, Iran.

FRANCES LAVERNE CARROLL is Professor of Library Science at the University of Oklahoma, Norman.
