It elucidates the hopes and the yearnings of the immigrants that propelled them out of their native environments to chance the hazards of the New World. It traces the profound imprint they made upon this world and how they, in turn, were changed by it.
Biografía del autor
Oscar Handlin (1915-2011) was director of the Center for the History of Liberty in America at Harvard University. He is the author of numerous works that have become classics.
