This IV drug reference includes more than 350 drug monographs presented in a clinical format. Each monograph heading includes the drug's generic name, trade name(s), drug category, and pH. Monograph sections include: usual dose; pediatric dose; infant and/or neonatal dose; dose adjustments; dilution, including storage; incompatibilities; rate of administration; actions; indications and uses; contraindications; precautions, including monitor, patient education, maternal/child, and elderly; drug/lab interactions; side effects, including major and minor; and antidote. All drugs are indexed by generic and common trade names, as well as by pharmacologic action. Appendixes offer useful information on handling cytotoxic drugs, alternate choices for infrequently used drugs, FDA pregnancy categories, information for patients receiving immunosuppressive agents, general dilution charts, and National Cancer Institute common toxicity grading criteria.
