Excerpt from Graduate Courses, a Handbook for Graduate Students: Lists of Advanced Courses Announced by Twenty-One Colleges or Universities of the United States, for the Year 1895-6
Dealing with so many technical and complicated matters, and prepared in very great haste in order that it might appear in time to be useful to intending students, such a compilation cannot be expected to be free from errors. As to many points, repeated inquiries have failed to elicit desired information. The Editor regrets that the tardiness of four or five universities in furnishing copy has delayed the publication of the Handbook beyond the announced date, and has also made it impossible to secure the desired degree of careful revision by Assistant Editors.
