Nella celerità maggiore o minore dell' assorbimento prende parte ancora la natura dei veleni: così i veleni gassosi e quelli che sono volatili anche a bassa temperatura, a circostanze eguali, sono assorbiti più presto dei veleni solubili, e fra questi ultimi sono assorbiti più presto i più difi'usibili dei meno dif fusibili. Lo stato poi in cui si trova il tessuto con cui il'veleno viene in contatto, e le modificazioni che esso medesimo vi in duce sono altre condizioni che ne ritardano l'assorbimento così un tessuto che sia sede di stato Congestivo, o del processo di flogosi, si lascia attraversare meno facilmente dai veleni di quello che è in condizioni normali; come pure un veleno che entra in combinazione con i materiali albuminoidi dei tessuticon i quali è messo in contatto, è assorbito più lentamente di quello che vi rimane libero ed immutato.
