A vegetação é baixa e mirrada.

This book illuminates the little-known expedition of 1916 that first explored and mapped the Cautario River, a tributary of the Amazon and Madeira Rivers in Brazil. The expedition, led by the author, a Brazilian Army Captain, set out to determine the river's coordinates, discharge volume, and establish connections to its feeder rivers and surrounding landscape. The author provides first-hand accounts of the challenges and discoveries made along the river's three distinct stretches. The book includes a compelling mix of science, adventure, and history, delving into the challenges of early 20th-century exploration while introducing readers to the immense biodiversity and rich cultural heritage of the Amazon. The author's detailed observations and meticulous documentation make this book a valuable resource for geographers, historians, and anyone interested in the exploration and preservation of the Amazon rainforest.
